Jon was born in Malaysia of Chinese parents. He came to Melbourne in the 70’s and graduated as a graphic artist. Jon's versatility with various media and styles has won him first prize with his Acrylic, Oil and Watercolour paintings.

With more than 30 years of teaching experience, Jon enjoys exploring different styles in his work. Jon exhibits widely in group shows but his solo exhibitions are also very well received and has works represented both in Australia and abroad.

Jon has works in the Edward River Council Collection and the Murray River Council Collection. His 2016 winning mural is on permanent display in Northern Highway, Rochester. As a result of his success, Jon was commissioned to paint a mural for St. Joseph primary school in Rochester in 2017 rendering him a fine artist as well as a mural artist. Jon’s work has been published on the front cover of the Art Education magazine and has appeared in the Australian Artist magazine.

He is a member of the Victorian Artists Society, Contemporary Artists of Victoria, The Echuca Moama Arts Initiative, Ballarat Arts Alive, vice president of the Ballarat Society of Artists and past president of The Whitehorse Arts Association.
