ARTIST BIO

SUSAN de VANNY Born: 1963 Educated: Melbourne, Australia Domicile: Melbourne, Australia Medium(s): Multiple: painting, textile art and design The diversity of her work makes Susan de Vanny a formidable presence in the world of art and textiles. She currently has an exhibit; 'Time' with the International Quilt Association in the USA which is currently touring the world for three years.

From the award winning extremely fine brush strokes required to do re-paints on fashion dolls to water colour landscapes, portraiture, fine photography, dress, bag making, elaborate quilting and textile art there is no end to the talents of this art enthused mother of two.

Naturally gifted in artistic talent and thanks to an unsurpassed ability to teach herself via -books, DVDs and the computer Susan has been largely self- taught. Armed with the basics and the doctrine of numerous artistic techniques Susan has had professional training in painting with Pat Winnett and Malcolm Beattie. She continues to participate in weekly painting classes with a group of like minded artists at Artlines in Eltham.

Susan has nearly completed studying via correspondence the Certificate II in design at the renowned City And Guilds course in London.

It is the meld of her talents that is really exciting as some of her current exhibits display multiple mediums. Where this will end as her confidence grows is really fascinating as those professionally involved in dealing in Susan's creativity are constantly surprised by the shine in her work.

To say she is "a woman of many talents" does not do her artistic endeavours justice.

Susan 1st exhibition of Paintings and Quilts will be held at Yarra Yering Wineries from the 1st December 2012.
