A Day At Brighton Beach by Helen Pynta

Features

ARTIST NOTES: This is one of my four "Melbourne Aspects Collection of 2014." This landmark of Melbourne is famous for it's historical Brighton Boxes and bathing spot. This popular destination was something I wanted to capture from an aerial perspective. I am very pleased with how this painting has turned out. Especially with the activity on the beach that has brought the painting to life. Brighton is a beach-side suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 11 km south-east of Melbourne's central business district. Brighton Beach is historically known as Dendy Street Beach, just south of Middle Brighton, features 82 colourful bathing boxes, which are one of the tourist icons of Melbourne. The boxes share a uniformity of size and build, and a regular arrangement along the beach, and are the only surviving such structures close to the Melbourne CBD.

ARTIST BIO

I am an artist from the Hume region and my work has attracted a lot of interest here, Interstate and overseas. With over 20 yrs of painting experience, my work has evolved into an attractive naïve painting style of buildings & landscapes.

I am always looking for new challenges in my painting. The theme of storytelling is something I'm drawn to. The vibrant use of colour in my work is a colour exaggeration which is intentional.

As life unfolds so does the development of my art work creating a lot more depth in colour and detail which give these paintings a totally new dimension.

My works are considered contemporary, modern & naïve.
